We've taken the WYSIWYG editor feature of XObase and married it with the "regions" tags of Dreamweaver.

In Simple Page Edit, pages are created with Dreamweaver as editable region templates. The application core maintains a site tree of the live site, and allows editors to directly edit the content of pages, or create new pages based on the stored Dreamweaver templates.

Simple Page Edit is the perfect solution for smaller sites where page editiing and creation for non HTML adept users is the optimal solution.

This product is very much like Macromedia's "Contribute" product. It does however have several distinct advantages over Contribute.

• Its server based. One simple upload of several application componants, and you're up and running.
• There are two licensing plans. A single site licence, and SPE gold, which allows for unlimited site deployments.
• There are no "per seat" site licences or limit to the number of site editors.
• You can role protect editing of folder contents in similar manner to XObase.
• You can limit the scope of a users access in a folder. For instance, a user may be able to edit pages but not create them
• Like Contribute, SPE allows the designer to set a specific set of CSS styles that are allowed in a sites design, helping to insure site design consistancy. Unlike Contribute it allows you to set permissions for style assignments at the user level.
• SPE does not use or need an FTP client to manage or edit content, once the site and its templates are upload.
• SPE supports Image library management. Images can be directly uploaded into the page being edited, but are managed in catagorical image folders. File upload ability is also a user level permission switch.
• SPE includes "Simple Image Edit". SIE is a basic image editor that allows you to scale, and crop images on upload or from the Image management UI.
